Our Client is a leader in the manufacturer and supply of high-performance industrial adhesives and adhesive application equipment, offering specialist bonding solutions to industries including construction, transport, and marine. They are seeking a Senior Chemist to join their team.

Job Description:

• Develop, formulate and test new polymer technologies.
• Assist in the transfer of new polymer technologies into full scale production.
• Investigate existing products and formulations to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce cost, in addition to improving chemical and physical properties.
• Liaise with suppliers and source and test new raw materials.
• Support quality control activities including developing quality control procedures and related documentation.
• Train and support production and QC teams in all technical aspects.
• Provide support for health & safety and environmental legislation.
• Monitor new developments in polymer technology and competitor activity.

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified to a minimum of a Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Material Technology.
• Proven track record in the formulation, development and testing of polyurethanes.  Well practiced in successfully taking new products from laboratory to production.
• Familiar with the raw material supply chain within the polyurethane industry.
• Excellent communication skills are essential to ensure good working relationships from the shop floor to the boardroom.
